Adelaide Hearing 3 to focus on future of aged care workforce

The Royal Commission into Aged Care Safety and Quality will hold a hearing in Adelaide on the morning of Friday 21 February 2020 about the aged care workforce.

 

At the hearing, the Royal Commissioners will hear evidence from Professor Charlene Harrington and Dr Katherine Ravenswood on workforce issues. Senior Counsel Assisting the Royal Commissioners, Peter Rozen QC, will make submissions to the Commissioners about the aged care workforce.

 

Mr Rozen QC will outline some of the recommendations that Counsel Assisting consider that the Commissioners should make in their final report concerning the future of the aged care workforce.

 

The submissions that Mr Rozen QC is expected to make will address staffing numbers and mix, terms and conditions of employment, workforce planning and the role of the Commonwealth, education and training of the workforce and registration of personal care workers.

 

The hearing will be held at Riverbank Rooms 2 and 3 at Adelaide Convention Centre, entry via North Terrace, Adelaide, beginning at 9:15am (ACDT).
