Two dead, one critical in crash - Cooma

Two people have died and another is in a critical condition after head-on crash near Cooma in the New South Wales' south on Saturday afternoon.

 

Shortly before 2pm (18 August), a Honda sedan and Subaru sedan collided on the Monaro Highway approximately 10km north of Cooma.

 

A woman, aged in her 70s, who was driving the Subaru died at the scene.

 

A woman, aged in her 60s, who was a passenger in the Honda died on the way to Cooma Hospital.

 

The driver of the Honda, a man also aged in his 60s, remains in a critical condition at Canberra Hospital.

 

Investigators from NSW police Monaro Local Area Command were at the scene. There were extensive delays in the area and motorists were urged to avoid the area and delay their trips.
